- Oil spillage has various adverse affects on the living organisms on this globe.

- Marine eco-system is hamppered
- Damages beaches, marshlands
- It enters the food chain and remains for long period in this globe affecting various living organisms
- What happens when oil spills?
- The main thing is that it will act as an covering sheet over the ocean or any water body, which wont allow the sun rays deep into the water body.
- This in turn will cause death of various marine flora & fauna which are at the deepr part of the water body.
- These dead matter will increase in the water body which absorbs ample amount of oxygen & liberates carbon dioxide in the water.
- Therefore due to lack of proper oxygen supply the whole marine ecosystem will be disturbed greatly.
- Along with this, the birds, animals & humans who consume such affected products will thus be affected. This will continue in the food chain, there by causing huge loss.
- This way we will lose various ecosystem, rare species, beaches etc.
