THE 3 R's REQUIRED TO SAVE OUR PLANET

There are the 3 R's that is followed properly and effectively we can save our planet. Till now you would have guessed those 3 R's, which i m talking about. Ya its REDUCE, REUSE & RECYCLE.

REDUCE:

Reduce the wastage of all most everything. Even small things wastage will directly or indirectly contribute to the loss of resources. So its our prime duty to reduce the wastage as far as possible. This could save energy thats required to produce it, the resources required to manufacture it, etc. 

REUSE:

There are some things that can be reused, instead of buying new one. For instance, you can carry cloth bag from home and avoid taking plastic bags from the shop, this could will reduce the problem of pollution caused by plastics and will save huge amount of energy and resources.

RECYCLE:

Most of the solid wastes are dumped in the open spaces. These contains all sorts of solid wastes varying from the domestic waste to industrial wastes. These includes metals, glass, some plastics, which can be recycled. These can be recycled and can easily be used for some other purpose. This way we can save both energy & resources. 

Hey friends this all seems to be very small thing, but if everyone of us follow there will be tremendous change that will be seen. So to save our earth everyone has to contribute there level best. 

TIPS TO REDUCE THE SOLID WASTE

Now a days solid waste is becoming a great problem for us. 

The human population is growing up rapidly, along with it the tremendous growth in the technology produces huge million tons of solid wastes. 

There's no proper method being followed for the solid waste disposal. Its our duty to follow them properly. 

Here are the some methods of solid waste disposal.

1. Sanitary disposal

2. Incineration

3. Composting

Sanitary disposal:

Out of these sanitary disposal method seems to me the most effective method of solid waste disposal. Here an open ground is taken and small pits of 2m in width and depth is dug. In this pit the solid wastes are dumped in a particular manner.

This contains alternative layers of solid wastes and earth. The waste and earth are dumped in the ratio 4:1 and is tightly packed. At the top about 50cm thick of earth is filled in order to prevent the rodents to enter. These pits should be kept undisturbed. The pits are dug by providing approximately 1m space throughout. These grounds can be made in garden and other recreation place.

Incineration:

Its burning of solid wastes. There's a huge problem here. This is not applicable for all solid wastes. Various metals and non combustible materials are to be removed. Along with this is produces many undesirable gases which are harmful to the environment.

SOLAR POND - NEW METHOD TO ENTRAP SOLAR ENERGY

As everyone knows that the sun is the largest renewable sources of energy. Its energy is available in abundant in nature. This all everyone knows. But we had a problem to entrapping this abundant energy. Also the equipments used for its trapping was found to be very costlier.

Now an method that has emerged a long back suits to be suitable to some extent. Its simply the solar ponds. This idea was researched 1987 itself. This pond offering processed heat to the dairy industries from 1993. This is located in Bhuj, Gujarat.

Here the process is very simple. Everyone knows that when you heat water it becomes light and travels upwards. The pond's temperature remains at the atmospheric temperature.This prevents the heat loss from the pond to the atmosphere.

Also salt is add to this pond, which prevents the light vapor to reach the top. The heat of the pond is trapped in it. This salt makes the vapor heavier & prevents  it from rising.

There are three zones available, Upper convective zone where the salt concentration is least. Non convective zone there the salt concentration is intermediate & Lower convective zone where the salt concentration is found to be the maximum.

Its also found that the water cannot move from one zone to another, thereby acting as an insulator which not only allows the sun's energy to reach the bottom of the pond but also doesn't allow them to go off. This way it entraps the sun's energy & this can be used for various processes.

It can be made anywhere required. It will be economical if we construct these solar ponds where we the salt is available.

SWEDEN INITIATES TO HELP TO SAVE OUR EARTH

Sweden initiates with a greatest ambition to achieve oil free economy by the year 2020. Also at the same time it has decided not to increase its nuclear plant.

It has decided to ride on renewable source of energy in order to compensate the ever increasing oil prices & the global warming.

Its very clear that the oil reservoirs are going to extinct, then finding the other alternative way will be difficult all of a sudden.

Its better that we try to act upon such problems from now onwards as Sweden has initiated. All have to come together and raise their hands to use the ever lasting renewable resources. There by the global warming can also be controlled.

This is the time to act on this, or then it would be too late in saving ourselves.

All we can do is to use the solar energy as effectively as we can, as this is the next choice after non renewable fuels. If this is developed  to a greater extent then two major problems of this globe can be reduced.

The two problems can be solved or reduced  are:

1. Energy problems.

2. Environmental problems.

So everything is in our hands, we have to save our earth & natural resources.

GREATEST EFFECTS OF GLOBAL WARMING CAN BE FELT BY SMALL VARIATION IN THE GLOBAL TEMPERATURE

Humans have exploited the earth to such an extent, that from now onwards even if the average global temperature increases slightly, its effects are going to be worst.

Effect of global warming is  almost similar to the rubber band that has lost almost its elastic property & even a small pull from now will break it.

There is an average increement of around 2 degree centigrade of average global temperature. As the human exploitation is going on a rapid rate, the average temperature might increase to even 4 degree centigrade very soon.

This in turn will increase the amount of carboin dioxide in the atmosphere. Increase in concentration of carbon dioxide will lead to global warming & the chain of environmental problems continues.

The humans are not aware that they are also being affected indirectly by there activities. 

For example:

1. Due to excess of pollution the average human life span han gone down considerable. He is dieing very quickly when compared to the previous generations.

2. Due to their activities lands get submerged under the oceans which again affect them.

So nothing is late, just come together & help to save our earth & natural resources.

HOT NEWS ON OIL SPILLAGE & ITS EFFECTS

Recently also a great disaster took place which caused pollution to both air & water. 

Ya you might have guessed it right, INS Vindhyagiri, a naval ship which collided yesterday with a merchant ship & caught fire.




This will affect the environment in various ways. 

The affect will  be felt by the marine life surrounding it.

Also might cause death of many marine organisms in and around this oil spread area. 

This might even enter the food chain & get circulated through our food chain.


Along with this marine problem, another thing to worry about this is, it will pollute the air, as its burning. 

This burning release of various toxic gases into the atmosphere. 

Also this in turn increase the global temperature, leading to global warming.




As it is predicted that if the emission of such gases goes at this rate, then the global temperature is expected to rise by 2.5 degree C at the mid of this decade. 

This might even rise to 3 degree or even more by the end of this decade.




So its our responsibility to save our earth & natural resources.
